BEYOND THE LEAD EDUCATION
-
In this program we focus on some of the most important commands you can teach your dog.
-
We will teach the command “place.”
-
This will teach your dog a specific place to go lay down
-
This is an excellent when you have visitor over and don't want them crowding the door
-
This is also a great command for when you need them to stay in a specific area. For example, if you are going to a outside patio of a restaurant and want them to lay on a mat, away from the table and against the building.
-
-
Various types of stays to test different scenarios.
-
The first type will be teaching your dog to stay for an extended amount of time.
-
The second will teach your dog to stay as you walk away and create distance between you.
-
The third will teach your dog to stay even if they cannot see you.
-
This is an excellent exercise if your dog is struggling with separation anxiety as well.
-
-
-
We will cover lots of recall work and games.
-
This will begin to teach your dog to come even around distractions.
-
The recall games will make the command fun for you and your dog so that the command becomes more reliable.
-
-
We will add in fun games like of hide and seek
-
This will help to practice stay and come around distractions all at once and to make the commands fun to do.
-
Lots of distractions will be added and various environments will be used in order to proof the commands.
*If you are interested in teaching your dog off leash work, this program is the beginning steps. It is very crucial to have these commands down and lots of practice before attempting anything off leash.
